Hey Y’all!!! My name is Jenna Kuzma!
Here is a bit of my story:
I grew up with three siblings, and we were always out and about being rambunctious kids. I LOVED being involved in anything sports related and was a big tomboy. Wearing sweat pants and a ponytail was comfortable for me. My parents turned to organized sports to give us kids an outlet for our energy and to help us learn to become part of a team. My young love of sports developed into playing sports all the way through college. Being part of a team not only taught me specific skill sets, but it enabled me to learn to work with others and learn what I was capable of. A big part of the person I am today stems from being a part of something bigger than myself, and having a coach to help me realize my potential. There were many times when I thought I wasn’t capable of something, but my coaches always helped push me to be my best. I’m really grateful for that!
After college, I thought I had to join the real world and get a “real” job. I found myself dreading work and using sports, like weight training and golf, as an outlet to relieve stress and make myself feel better. These activities made me happy, it was my me time. With my background in sports, I’ve always been very comfortable in gym settings. I found myself helping friends exercise and loved watching them get stronger and lose fat. One day, one of my friends asked me why I wasn’t coaching people for a living because it was clear to her that it was my passion. I sure had a light bulb moment!!! Why wasn’t I working on a career that I loved? So, I decided to do something about it. I’ve been coaching people for a living since 2008.
Over my years in this industry, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients. The clients I’ve worked with that had the best results focused on changing their fitness AND nutrition habits. I realized how important educating myself in both areas was, and found it very important to become certified to coach you on both. Staying current on my education allows me to write better, all encompassing programs for you that yield lasting results.
I find extreme joy in helping people feel better about themselves and helping them realize their potential. Heck, you might even start to like exercising and a more healthful way of eating. Being a part of someones health journey, and watching them realize how much more awesome they can be is definitely the favorite part of my “job”. I live for my clients “A-HA” moments. Does being healthy take hard work and dedication? In some instances, yes. Does it mean being consistent and committed to what you’re trying to achieve? Yep. Does it have to be difficult? Not necessarily. That’s what I’m here to help you with. I take your goals and needs very seriously, but you better believe we’ll have some fun in the process! We’ll probably even share a bunch of laughs! I’m so excited to help you!
I also love dogs, the beach, anything water related, learning new things, trying to play the ukulele, reading, tea, cold brew coffee, sunshine, champagne, and FUN!!!
Here is why I do what I do:
We’re bombarded with so many different “best” fitness solutions. Paleo, gluten free, Olympic lifting, vegan, intermittent fasting, HIIT training, eating every three hours, heart rate variability training, low-carb, strength training, bullet-proof coffee, crossfit, low-fat, juicing, shape belts, smoothies, fasted cardio, shake meal plans, raw diets, detoxes, P90X, shake weights, etc., etc., etc. UGH!
Why are there soooooo many options that claim they’ll get you results? Well, because they all do, to an extent. If it didn’t work for somebody, there probably wouldn’t be a market for it or a product to sell.
We live in a world of instant gratification and that’s one of the reasons the fitness industry makes billions of dollars a year. They know that. They guarantee results, and fast ones. They feed on our emotions, and promise toned, sexy bodies. They’re smart.
We need to do better than that.
What if you never had to go on a diet again? What if you could see through the hype and have the confidence to make healthy decisions no matter what the “latest fix” promised? What if you didn’t have to lose twenty pounds before your vacation because you learned how to maintain a healthy weight all year long? How do you think you would feel? How much more of your time, effort, thoughts, and money could be spent doing something you’re passionate about?
The fitness industry is what I’m passionate about. I want to make it better.
Glutes and Grub Mission:
Glutes and Grub is dedicated to helping people learn how to see through the ever-changing, confusing fads in the fitness industry. My hope is to alleviate any confusion and negative feelings that arise in regards to diet and exercise, while still helping clients achieve their goals. Clients will be challenged to get better, and learn about themselves in a positive setting. Glutes and Grub is fitness and nutrition coaching that produces extraordinary transformations, inside and out. We also have fun around here, watch out now! 🙂
